Welcome to St Joseph's School, Ottoway. Our school community provides a safe, welcoming environment for all students.
We understand that one of the most important decisions your family will make is the selection of the right school for your children. We acknowledge that as a parent, you are the primary educator of your child and we work in partnership with your family to develop your child to their fullest potential.
As Principal, I look forward to meeting your family and working with you and your child, and hope that your child finds a happy, friendly and secure atmosphere at our school and one that will stimulate them to learn and discover their place in our world.
Our school is an integral part of the St Maximilian Kolbe Parish, Ottoway, where the Church, Church Hall and Presbytery are adjacent to the school. Our Catholic beliefs, values and traditions form the basis of our school community and are taught both in a formal religious education program and throughout the school.
Our staff are passionate and enthusiastic, and each member brings to the community a diverse wealth of experiences and skills. They are hard working, dedicated and exceptionally professional people who give generously of their time and expertise to ensure all students experience success.
Throughout the year we gather and analyse data on each child and target their learning accordingly. Our Targeted Teaching Literacy and Numeracy programs involve children working in smaller groups with an educator (classroom teacher, education support officer, member of school leadership) around clearly identified learning outcomes. Our 2019 NAPLAN results reinforce the strength of the programs. We aim to ensure all of our children learn to Thrive in a Transforming World.
The best way to see how our school could suit your family is to come along and talk to us. We'll be pleased to show you around our school facilities and for you to see the school in action. I extend an invitation to you to contact me at the school with any queries you might have.
